Between May 20th and 25th, 2025, there were 43 traffic accidents with injuries in Ordu, resulting in 49 people getting injured. To tackle the increasing accidents, the Ordu Provincial Security Directorate intensified their inspections. As part of efforts to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents, a total of 16,047 vehicles were inspected. During these checks, 2,859 drivers were penalized for violations of the Highway Traffic Law. Legal actions were taken against 53 drivers for driving under the influence, 84 for operating vehicles that did not meet technical requirements, 52 for improper lane changing, 83 for running red lights, and 822 for exceeding speed limits. Additionally, penalties were issued to 138 drivers for using mobile phones while driving, 118 for not wearing seat belts, and 193 for riding motorcycles without helmets. Following the inspections, 28 vehicles were banned from the road, and the driving licenses of 53 individuals were confiscated. Ordu Provincial Security Directorate officials stated that inspections would continue rigorously and consistently to ensure traffic safety and tranquility for citizens.
