On 03 July 2025, four people were injured in traffic accidents that occurred at two different points in Gazimağusa. The accidents were caused by driver error and negligence. The first accident took place in the morning on the Dörtyol-Geçitkale Road. Around 09:00, a car with license plate SZ 298, driven by Pakize Mülhüde Aydın Başaran (42), carelessly veered off towards Geçitkale Airport, lost control, hit the median curb stones and information sign, then collided with the border stones around the roundabout causing the vehicle to overturn. The slightly injured driver was taken to Gazimağusa State Hospital for control. The second accident occurred on the same day around 18:00 on the Iskele-Gazimağusa Road. A car with license plate UU 167, driven by Arian Azizzadeh (22), hit the car with license plate HC 307 driven by Hasan Hüseyin Haksever (41) while changing lanes from the left to the right in front of the "Kelin Yeri" restaurant. Due to the impact, the UU 167 car overturned after going off the road, while the HC 307 car hit the median and the traffic sign on it hit the car with license plate PH 991 driven by Alper Erbilek (66) on the opposite lane. In these accidents, Ozan Akdeniz (23) and Aysu Kerme (22) in the UU 167 car, and Gözde Şahin (39) in the HC 307 car were injured. After receiving treatment at Gazimağusa State Hospital, the injured were discharged. Police investigations are ongoing for both accidents.
